A very interesting idea for New Day that has been turned down by WWE has been revealed according to a new report, and it’s a shame it won’t be happening.
The idea, according to WrestleVotes, called for Kofi Kingston to move to the Raw brand upon his return, with Big E staying on SmackDown. They would both remain members of New Day with the matching gear, entrance and the whole package, but would compete in the singles division on separate brands.
Kingston is currently absent from WWE while the singles push of Big E has gotten underway. It’s unknown how long he’ll be out for other than it would be at least a number of weeks.
The third New Day member, Xavier Woods, has been out since late 2019 after suffering an injury. As per WrestleVotes, the idea called for Woods to serve as a ‘manager type’ both E and Kingston, appearing on both brands.
This would have been a very intriguing idea to see play out, it’s a shame it was rejected – unless a certain someone changes his mind, of course.
