One of the names released by WWE last week was former NXT Champion Aleister Black, who has since publicly spoken about his time with the company in a somewhat surprisingly positively manner.
Writing in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that there is a “strong belief” that Aleister Black (Tommy End) will end up in AEW, although WWE may make him an offer to return to the company:
While not a done deal, and it can’t be until 8/31, the strong belief is that Tom Budgen, the former Aleister Black, is headed here, although there has been talk in WWE that the company made a mistake in cutting him and may make him an offer to return, so that could change the equation.
This comes after it was reported that people within WWE think that Aleister Black was released too soon and would like to see the Dutchman return to the company, which can read more about by clicking here.
As Dave Meltzer notes, Aleister Black’s WWE non-compete clause isn’t up until the end of August, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for more updates on this story.
