A recently released WWE star’s first appearance back on the independent scene has been officially announced.
In early February, Cedric Alexander was confirmed to be among several WWE stars let go from their contracts, drawing an end to his nine year spell in the company.
While speculation remains regarding a potential move to AEW, Alexander has first been announced to be returning to the indies, as he’s now been confirmed to be appearing at United Pro Wrestling’s Ready or Not! event on May 10.
Taking place in his home state of North Carolina, specifically New Bern, the news was announced by United Pro Wrestling on Twitter – who confirmed that “the rumors are true” of Alexander’s appearance.
Alexander would also respond to UPW’s announcement, writing:
#PRYMEAlexander
Across his nine years in WWE, Alexander won the Cruiserweight and WWE Raw Tag Team Championships on one occasion each, as well as three reigns as 24/7 Champion.
We will provide further updates on Alexander’s future post-WWE as more information becomes available.
