There has been a backstage update on a released WWE star being pulled from an upcoming independent event.
Following her WWE release on November 1, Tegan Nox (Nixon Newell) was announced for a return to Cardiff, Wales for ATTACK! Pro Wrestling’s December 14-15 Under The Misteltour’ shows.
ATTACK! would later announce that Nox had been pulled from the events, with the promotion thanking WWE for their support in trying to make the appearance possible.
Following this, Fightful Select have now learned further details on the situation publishing a new report.
When asking around with names within the UK independent scene there was a feeling of disappointment following Nox’s removal from the dates, with WWE and ATTACK! being in discussions throughout the process in order to get Nox available.
Despite being “gutted” at the end result, ATTACK! spoke well of their dealings with WWE throughout.
What could not be clarified is whether a WWE non-compete clause is what caused the cancellation, with it being reported after Nox’s release that she would be subject to a 90-day clause – as is typical with main roster talent that are cut.
While this could not be confirmed, it was expressed to Fightful Select that a “myriad of issues” could have been the cause for Nox’s removal from the show.
ATTACK! are seeking a replacement for Nox for the dates in question, and are reportedly among many promotions expressing a desire to work with the former WWE star when she becomes available.
