WWE
A recently released WWE star made their return to the company’s programming on tonight’s special Homecoming episode of NXT.
For the first time in five years, NXT emanated from its original home of Full Sail University tonight.
WWE loaded up the show with a whole host of names who were part of the Full Sail era of NXT, including Bobby Roode, Tyler Breeze, Sami Zayn, Mr William Regal, Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and DIY.
However, there was also a surprise from one name who was one of the most dominant champions in NXT history but was released by WWE not long ago.
Back in May, Shayna Baszler was included in the names who had been released by WWE in its latest batch of talent cuts.
Baszler seemingly maintained a good relationship with the company, as she was working backstage at NXT while her 90-day clause was still expiring.
That was established once again tonight as she made a surprise appearance backstage, trying to get Sol Ruca and Zaria back on the same page after their recent issues.
She told them:
“Fix it, and you’ll get everything you want.”
Baszler is a two-time NXT Women’s Champion with the longest combined days of all time.
There’s no word on whether Baszler has re-signed with WWE so this may have just been a one-off appearance, but we’ll keep you posted with any updates.
