A released WWE star has shared a unique farewell message to her former character ahead of officially entering free agency.
On May 2 WWE released several stars from their contracts across Raw, SmackDown and NXT.
Among those was Cora Jade, who had spent four years in the company competing solely on the NXT brand, as well as making some appearances in TNA Wrestling earlier this year.
As confirmed by the 24 year old following her WWE release, she is set to revert back to the name – Elayna Black – of which she used on the independent scene prior to signing with WWE in 2021.
Ahead of her impeding return to the indies, Black shared a vignette to Twitter in which she said goodbye to Cora Jade, with one aspect of her former character – a skateboard – being shown buried underneath some roots.
In the video, Jade said:
“So let’s make one thing clear, this was never your story, it was always mine.”
Black has already been confirmed for several bookings throughout the Summer for promotions such as Black label Pro Wrestling, Top Talent Wrestling and Atomic Wrestling.
We will provide updates on Black’s post-WWE future as more news becomes available.
