Santana Garrett was among the names released by WWE earlier, and it’s now being reported she was set to debut on SmackDown.
PWInsider notes that Garrett was in the same boat as Vanessa Borne in being called up last year, but WWE’s creative just never figured out a way to bring them in.
Borne was released last month too, and Chelsea Green was also in the same contingent for a while, and she was let go in April.
The other names released today were Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott and Murphy.
The last couple of months have been a big clearout period for WWE, with Nick Khan heading a new business strategy which is reportedly for WWE to become “the next Marvel”.
