Released WWE Superstar Calls Out WWE For Not Pushing Current Talent

On last week’s quarterly call, Vince McMahon discussed WWE’s direction after the firing of Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman was fired for reportedly not being on the same page as Vince.

One thing heavily rumored was Paul Heyman was very interested in pushing underutilized talent and trying to build new stars. Also rumored was the fact that Vince might be more inclined to push already established stars like Randy Orton and Big Show. However, Vince said he still wants to push new stars.

This brought out some ridicule and comments from former stars, especially when it was announced Shane McMahon was returning on Raw. Miro (Rusev) and Maria Kanellis took some shots at the booking.

Maria’s husband, Mike Bennett, joined in on the discussion today. However, Mike’s comments were more positively focused. He pointed out guys who he thought were good enough to be top guys. The first guy he discussed was Mustafa Ali.

Bennett took a lot of heat over the Tweet. He said Ali was an A+ wrestler and promo. He also said he was an A+ human.

He went on to include other wrestlers he thought were top guys:

Mike talked about these guys and how 205 live was, in his opinion, the best wrestling show in WWE week in and week out. Mike also took responsibility for getting off on the wrong foot when he came to WWE which led to him never really getting a big push.

Bennett is a super-talented wrestler and is rumored to be headed to ROH at some point in the future.
