Released WWE Star Comments On Potential Return WWE

Former NXT UK star Xia Brookside has opened up about her release from WWE, and commented on a potential return to the company.

Brookside, daughter of Performance Center coach Robbie Brookside, wrestled her first match in WWE in August 2018, taking part in the Mae Young Classic, before becoming a mainstay of the NXT UK brand for the following four years.

She was eventually released from her WWE contract along with a number of other NXT UK talent on August 18 of this year, when the brand was dissolved.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Brookside discussed her WWE run and eventual release, as well as the possibility of a return to the company:

“I was signed for four years. I was 19 and signing, and so much has changed since then. Like, the indies four years ago compared to what they are now, like, it’s a completely different ballgame.

“There is so many more females over here now, as well, and I’m just excited to like, get back out there and try new things. I’ve got something big coming up that I’m not allowed to talk about, it’s a surprise.

“I feel like there’s so many doors open now. I don’t feel restricted in any way. I, like, I know deep down in my heart that that door is still open.

“So it may not be now, it may not be next week, but like, I know if I work hard enough, I can get back there.”

Since her NXT UK release, Brookside has wrestled two matched for the UK-based promotion All Star Wrestling.

Isla Dawn, who was also a part of the NXT UK brand but was not let go by the company, recently made her debut for the US based NXT brand at an NXT live event.
