Renee Paquette has addressed her reunion with Mick Foley for the AEW Double or Nothing 2026 Buy In, and what she believes the hardcore legend will offer to the company going forward.

As was confirmed by AEW President Tony Khan earlier this week, Mick Foley will be making his first ever appearance in All Elite Wrestling as Renee Paquette’s co-host for the AEW Double or Nothing 2026 Buy In show on YouTube.

Foley’s AEW debut comes five months after the Hall of Famer publicly distanced himself from WWE due to the company’s relationship with US President Donald Trump, with Foley announcing that he would be cutting ties with them upon the expiry of his WWE legends contract.

While it’s not yet known what role Mick Foley will play in AEW beyond his first appearance in New York City for Double or Nothing, Renee Paquette believes that Foley will be an invaluable presence for the company’s talent roster going forward.

Speaking to Rick Ucchino & Justin LaBar on Busted Open, Paquette admitted she had “no idea” that Foley was coming to AEW for Double or Nothing:

“I mean it was so exciting. I had no idea that that was going to be happening.

“Of course I’ve known Mick for such a long time. So to be able to work with him in this capacity, I’m excited. Any time you get to have someone of that legendary status come on, shed some light.

“Mick is such a fan of professional wrestling, so to have him be a part of AEW now, it just feels like such a perfect mix. I feel like he’s somebody that just fits in with the entire vibe and essence that is All Elite Wrestling.

“I’m also just pumped for our talent to be able to pick his brain. To have someone like him around I think is going to be so valuable to so many people.”

Potential Mick Foley AEW Plans After Double Or Nothing

Fans would need to look back to Mick Foley’s stint as WWE Raw General Manager in 2016 for the last time he held down a regular role on TV for a a major wrestling company.

While he is 10 years older now, Foley has a lot to offer to AEW going forward and his arrival in the company presents plenty of exciting options.

Whether it be mentoring a younger talent – much like Sting did with Darby Allin in his latter years of active competition – becoming an on-screen authority figure on AEW Dynamite or Collision, or perhaps taking up a seat at commentary, Foley would be a welcomed presence regardless.

There’s also the possibility of a reunion with Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, who together during WWE’s Attitude Era provided some of the company’s all-time funniest moments, and shared undeniable chemistry that could be tapped into once again.
