Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Raw commentator Renee Young is set to be part of the commentary team for this Friday’s WWE Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Renee became a permanent member of the Raw commentary team in September, and was also at the announcers’ desk for this past Sunday’s Evolution pay-per-view.
There is no word on whether there will be special requirements for Young given Saudi Arabia’s strict rules and restrictions on women. Back at the Greatest Royal Rumble, the Saudi government actually released a public apology because a commercial showing Carmella, Bayley and Sasha Banks in their ring gear was played during the event.
John Cena and Daniel Bryan will both NOT be at Friday’s event, though, as they are refusing to travel given the controversy surrounding Saudi Arabia at present.Cena was replaced in the World Cup on Raw last night by Bobby Lashley, and Daniel Bryan is likely going to be written out of his planned WWE Championship match against AJ Styles tonight on SmackDown Live.
