The replacement for an injured AEW star for a championship match on tonight’s Dynamite has been officially revealed.
The main event of last week’s AEW Dynamite show saw HOOK and Samoa Joe of the Opps team up to defeat Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders.
After the match, HOOK was seen vomiting in the ring, which led to concern from fans who believed that he had suffered a concussion.
Concerns about HOOK’s health were seemingly confirmed to kick off tonight’s show, when it was revealed that HOOK would no longer be taking part in the AEW Trios Championship main event.
The match was set to see Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata go at it alone against Jon Moxley, Castagnoli and Yuta for the Trios Championship, but in the absence of HOOK, the Opps found themselves a new ally.
Powerhouse Hobbs subbed in for the injured HOOK for the match, with him teaming with Joe and Shibata against the Death Riders.
