It was reported in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter than AEW was no longer interested in trying to sign former Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard, despite previous reports that both AEW and WWE were keen on bringing her in following her release in June.
However, Wrestling Inc. has now put out a report suggesting the opposite, as their sources understand that both AEW and WWE are still very interested in Tessa, but signing her right now isn’t possible due to the ongoing pandemic.
There had been talk that interest in her might be lower than expected after she was alleged to have bullied other members of the Impact roster, and was even accused of racism. It must be noted that these alleged incidents were never proved to have happened.
The Wrestling Inc. report suggests that Tessa is currently in Mexico with her husband and fellow wrestler DAGA, and that any moves to sign her will likely be made once the pandemic is “over”, as this will make travel easier for her. She is expected to make her choice as to which company she will sign for upon her return to the US.
