AEW has reportedly made belts for a brand new championship which has yet to be introduced.
Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company now has the hardware for trios titles.
Noting that Tony Khan had previously indicated that he wanted to introduce the gold following Omega’s return, Dave Meltzer wrote:
“Trios title belts have been made so now it’s just a matter of when they pull the trigger. Tony Khan was asked about making trios titles and gave the indication a few months ago what it was happening, but that they didn’t want to do the tournament until Kenny Omega was back.”
Tony Khan had commented about the possibility of trios titles in a media call ahead of AEW Revolution in March. Khan stated that while the company could put on a great tournament in Omega’s absence, he has so much respect for Omega, and would want him to be a part of the tournament.
