An AEW star reportedly suffered a legitimate concussion during yesterday’s episode of Dynamite, and a couple of others may have been injured too.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Darby Allin suffered a concussion when he was jumped by Ricky Starks and sent into the ring ropes. If you watch the spot back the velocity at which Allin hits the ropes is likely to make you cringe.
Allin continued taking offence after this though, including several powerbombs from Brian Cage and Starks’ finish, before Jon Moxley came out to make the save.
AEW is still promoting Allin & Moxley vs Cage & Starks in a tag match for next week, but plans for that are said to be in question now. Allin had previously been out of action since Double or Nothing in May.
The Young Bucks also may have suffered some blows at the finish of their match against the Butcher and the Blade. It was noted that Matt Jackson’s elbow drop through the table caused him pain as the table jammed into his knee.
Nick was also pretty shaken up too after his swanton bomb through a table. There’s no official word on whether any of the four men are seriously injured or if they were just impact blows, but stay tuned for any updates.
