Report: Another SmackDown Star Being Moved To WWE Raw

A report has emerged claiming that another WWE SmackDown star is following in the footsteps of a couple of others and moving to the Raw brand.

The new report comes from Ringside News, which is claiming that Robert Roode is being switched over to the red side, which comes following WrestleVotes’ report that Dolph Ziggler is also being moved.

Roode has been absent from WWE TV for months now as he’s been unable to travel in from Canada due to travel restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

Roode and Ziggler had been working as a tag team, and even reigned as Raw Tag Team Champions in 2019. With Roode absent, Ziggler has become embroiled in the romance angle with Otis, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

The move would make a lot of sense if they are to reunite as a team as Raw only really has the Street Profits and Viking Raiders as legitimate teams right now.

Another name that is reportedly making the same move is Mustafa Ali, who has also been off TV for months. It was rumoured he could have been the mystery hacker that played a part in the Otis/Ziggler saga, but it seems as though that whole thing may have been dropped.

AJ Styles was the most recent name to go the other way from Raw to SmackDown, following conflict with Paul Heyman who he held accountable for the releases of Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows.

Heyman has recently been removed from his position as Raw executive director, and his SmackDown counterpart Bruce Prichard is now the creative lead for both shows, a move that the USA Network is reportedly pretty unhappy about.

It seems these changes are an attempt to make the Raw roster more into what Prichard and Vince McMahon want now that Heyman has a lot less influence than he did.
