Report: Bobby Fish AEW Contract Not Planned To Be Renewed AEW

Is Bobby Fish on his way back to WWE after his All Elite Wrestling contract is completed?

While most of the internet wrestling community was still chatting about tonight’s (August 31) AEW Dynamite, a new report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp about the future one notable former WWE star.

On Fightful’s AEW Dynamite post-show, Sean Ross Sapp was live discussing the matter before the Fightful Select post was released and sounded to have some pretty concrete statements.

“I kinda hope I’m not hearing the right thing but the people that I have discussed this with, I had one person outright tell me, ‘I know he’s not getting renewed, just don’t know when it’s up.'”

The report went on to detail that Fightful was informed that Fish’s contract is likely up soon and is not planned to be renewed.

Bobby Fish has not been seen on AEW television since August 3 where an angle was set up between the Undisputed Elite (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) turning on the Young Bucks but none of the UE trio have been seen since.

Bobby Fish signed with AEW in late 2021 after his NXT release and aligned with Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly as the Undisputed Elite.

Bobby Fish recently spoke about WWE under the creative helm of his former boss, Triple H, being quoted as saying he would “go to war,” for him.

At time of writing, neither AEW nor Bobby Fish had publicly commented on the report.

Update: SRS added additional details for the sake of clarity, Tweeting:

“I wanna make this clear — thus far, no idea when this decision was made. Over the last ten days Fish has worked indie bookings for the first time since last year, started a podcast, done interviews and taken seminar bookings.”
