News broke before Raw yesterday that former Universal and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was currently a free agent after his deal with Vince McMahon’s promotion had actually expired.
However, there is believed to be no worry within WWE that Brock will work for another promotion. It is believed that when Brock is ready to return to work and Vince McMahon has something for him, the two parties will work something out.
While the news may only have broken yesterday, it is being reported by Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Brock has actually been a free agent for quite some time:
“So Brock’s contract actually expired months ago in April, but nobody knew it because it wasn’t really an issue. This isn’t the first time. He does that all the time. The contract will expire at WrestleMania, and most years people don’t know about it.”
It is likely that we won’t be seeing Brock Lesnar back inside a WWE ring for either a match or appearance until fans are back into arena, and that could be quite a few months still.
Brock is not the only person who is no longer under contract with Vince McMahon’s company, as WWE announced yesterday that a popular name had been released from his deal. You can find out who by clicking here.
