It is being reported by Vince Russo and Billi Bhatti on the Brand podcast that Cody Rhodes has emailed people within WWE to ask them about whether or not they’d be interested in joining AEW.
According to Russo, Bhatti has been forwarded emails from people within WWE from Cody Rhodes. In these emails, Rhodes asks about the talent potentially being interested in joining his promotion:
“Billi was given emails by talent — WWE talent direct from Cody Rhodes just having a little conversation with them to see if they’d be interested in coming to AEW, and bro they gotta go about it that way because it’s kinda friends talking to friends there’s no breaking contracts or anything like that. Billi himself saw the email from Cody to various talent.”
This comes after it was reported by Dave Meltzer last week that “virtually everyone” within WWE has reached to AEW at some stage. You can read more about that story by clicking here.
This sparked a response from a former Universal Champion and current SmackDown star, who denied every contacting All Elite Wrestling about the prospect of jumping ship.
Speaking of WWE talent moving over to AEW. It has been reported that Renee Young won’t be able to join All Elite Wrestling anytime soon following her departure from WWE over the weekend.
