Report: COVID Testing Causes Multiple WWE TV Re-Writes

On Monday following Raw, it emerged that someone within WWE had tested positive for the Coronavirus. It has since been reported that this person is an active NXT roster member.

As a result of the news breaking, WWE was forced to postpone the TV tapings that had been scheduled for yesterday. WWE is hoping to tape the majority of next week’s programming at the Performance Center today.

It has also been reported that today may be the longest day of WWE TV tapings in the companies history, with tapings set to kick off at the Performance Center at 11am EST.

A lot has been reported about the television tapings, and Gary Cassidy has revealed on Twitter that the COVID testing has meant that there have been several amendments made to the scripts for this week’s shows.

I’ve been told that, yesterday, some WWE employees had to wait for up to three hours to undergo COVID-19 testing.

I’ve also been told that there have since been “multiple rewrites” for this week’s programming

This has since been corroborated by Ringside News, who had the following to say on the matter:

“Ringside News has learned that “multiple re-writes” were handed out for today’s taping. It’s unclear exactly what WWE is changing around, but Vince McMahon is calling for more changes to be made.”

One thing that is unclear is if WWE is going to be inviting the friends and family of the roster members back to the shows to act as ‘fans’. For the latest on this, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com
