Report: Daniel Bryan Behind Pushes Of Underused WWE Stars

It’s being reported that the influence of Daniel Bryan is resulting in several underused WWE stars getting the pushes many believe they deserve.

As per WrestlingNews.co, the four-way match on the July 24 episode of SmackDown featuring Drew Gulak, Shorty G, Lince Dorado and winner Gran Metalik was pushed for by Bryan as he’s a big fan of all four men. Metalik won that match and challenged AJ Styles for the Intercontinental Championship on last night’s show.

The program between Bryan and Gulak earlier this year which has now resulted in them effectively becoming tag team partners was also a Bryan idea, as well as the recent Gulak vs Styles matches.

The report notes that we should expect more underused talent to be pushed in the coming weeks, and there’s also been talk that Shorty G could be dropping that name and just going back to Chad Gable. He seemingly turned heel last night on SmackDown and aligned with King Corbin.

Vince McMahon is reportedly open to more out-of-the-box ideas nowadays due to concerns about TV ratings, so he’s pretty receptive to suggestions from the likes of Bryan. He may not use all of them but it’s said that a lot of things Daniel Bryan pitches do end up being used.

It had previously been reported that Daniel Bryan is actually part of the SmackDown writing team and this would certainly back that up. Let us know on Twitter if there are any specific names you’d like to see get pushed that perhaps haven’t had their break yet.
