Remember when Daniel Bryan announced that he would be making some kind of “career-altering announcement a few weeks ago? Well, about that.
PWInsider is now reporting that the angle has seemingly been scrapped after the “who tried to hurt Roman Reigns” storyline took off over the past two weeks on SmackDown and Raw.
It is not ruling out that the angle could re-emerge in the future if needed, but it is thought that for now at least, the announcement will not be mentioned. Some reports suggested that Bryan might be heading for 205 Live, but this has seemingly been scrapped in favour of a feud with Roman Reigns.
PWInsider also reported that the majority of last night’s SmackDown Live show was re-written beforehand, including the tag main event which was originally set to be Kofi Kingston vs. Andrade.
We reported earlier that the Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns match that had been rumoured for SummerSlam has allegedly been cancelled to allow for the TV storyline to run its course.
SmackDown’s creative team seems to be in a bit of turmoil of late, so this will likely not be the last cancelled storyline in the coming weeks.
