It is being reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current idea as many have theorised is to have Fiend Bray Wyatt, who returned last night on Raw, face Demon Finn Balor at SummerSlam following their altercation.
Bray returned to the WWE ring last night in his fiend gimmick, attacking Finn Balor and hitting him with a Sister Abigail.
This immediately got fans speculating about a potential feud between the two which would culminate at SummerSlam. Both men have two different personas, and to have Demon vs. Fiend would be a huge draw, especially with the probability that it will be the Demon’s first ever loss on the main roster.
It has been reported that Finn has requested time off from WWE, and that this time off will likely start following SummerSlam. This lends itself to the idea that Finn will lose, as it would allow him to take time away without a convoluted storyline.
Giving the Demon his first loss would be a great way to instantly get over the Fiend as a threat, as he would always have that win on his record. If they want Bray’s new character to be a success, they need to hit the ground running, and what better way to do it than a victory over the Demon at SummerSlam?
