Yesterday, it was reported that Bobby Lashley, who was defeated by “Demon” Finn Balor for his Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 35, would be looking to resume his MMA career at some point in the future.
Initially, no indication of exactly when Lashley would be looking to return to MMA was revealed. However, in a recent interview with Sky Sports, the former ECW World Champion confirmed we might be seeing him step into the Octagon sooner than expected:
“I feel great. My body is 100% so I think maybe this summer, maybe after SummerSlam.”
Lashley would need to train for a return, so if he does choose to have another fight in the Octagon, he will likely be taking some time away from WWE. Lashley, who has a 15-2 MMA record also said that he might speak with Vince McMahon about winning the Universal Championship at SummerSlam, and taking it to Bellator to he wins their title.
The Raw star also talked about the possibility of the controversial UFC star Conor McGregor coming to WWE after he and Stephanie McMahon teased that he would “give it a go”. Lashley said that in spite of this, the company would never put a title on his as he was “too small”.
