After his appearance last week on Friday Night SmackDown where he seemingly started a feud with The Fiend, PWInsider is reporting that Kane is set to be part of the 2020 Royal Rumble.
During his promo which kicked off last week’s SmackDown, Kane put over the fact that he still holds the record for the most Royal Rumble eliminations in history with 44.
Braun Strowman is the closest active superstar to Kane’s record with 30 eliminations. Unless Strowman eliminates a staggering 15 wrestlers on Sunday night, Kane’s record is likely to remain until 2021 at least.
There is no word on when WWE is expected to announce that Kane will be involved in the match, but some have speculated that he could appear as a surprise entrant on Sunday night.
If you are unsure of who has officially declared that they will be entering either the men’s or women’s Royal Rumble matches, you can check out or handy tracker by clicking here.
Also, WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of Raw, NXT, AEW: Dynamite, Friday Night SmackDown, Worlds Collide and the Royal Rumble this week, so make sure you check out all of those.
Do you think WWE is right to have booked Kane for the 2020 Royal Rumble or do you think they should have allowed a younger wrestler from NXT/NXT UK to have the place instead? Let us know in the comments.
