Report: Gallows & Anderson WWE Return Was Planned For A Long Time WWE

Gallows and Anderson made an unexpected return to WWE, reuniting with A.J. Styles during the October 10 edition of Raw.

The return was unexpected with little talk of it beforehand, however, according to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, their comeback had been in the works for some time.

Meltzer notes:

While it looked to most that the Anderson & Gallows going to WWE thing was last minute because there were no real rumors, past the two saying they were open to it after their IMPACT contract expired, it was the actual reason they allowed the contract to expire as there had been talks regarding it dating back a little while.

The Good Brothers’ contract with IMPACT was for two years and expired in 2022. They held the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship from June 19 2022 to August 26 2022, losing it to the OGK (Mike Bennett and Matt Taven), who were representing the Honor No More faction.

In light of this recent report, it seems that dropping the gold was a pre-planned move paving the way for a WWE return.

The NJPW Bullet Club members rejoined A.J Styles in the squared circle to support him in his feud against Judgment Day, led by the former Bullet Club leader, on WWE Raw.

After Balor’s failed attempts to recruit Styles into the Judgment Day stable, a trios match to settle the score is billed for Crown Jewel on November 5.

The fight will see Judgment Day’s Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio against Styles, Gallows and Anderson.

The match could be the first time fans will see Gallows and Anderson competing in a WWE ring at a main event since the 2020 Royal Rumble.

Their last match with the company was during the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 where they tried to assist Styles against the Undertaker, but they ultimately failed against the Deadman.
