Report: Jon Moxley Can ‘Opt Out’ Of AEW Contract After One Year

On May 25th at AEW Double or Nothing, Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose in WWE) made a shock appearance for the new promotion. Moxley attacked Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega after their main event match in Las Vegas.

This came after WWE strangely confirmed in January that the former WWE Champion had hold them that he would not be re-signing his contract and would be leaving the company at the end of April 2019.

Now we have some more news regarding Jon Moxley’s contract with Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling. Rajah is reporting that Moxley signed a three-year deal with AEW.

AEW higher-ups clearly have plans to place Moxley in the main event scene and position him as one of their top guys. However, if things don’t go to plan for Moxley, there is a clause in his contract which allows him to “opt out” after just one year.

“Jon Moxley’s new contract with All Elite Wrestling is a three year deal with the option for him to opt out after one year.”

The report also states that WWE had no idea Moxley would be appearing at Double or Nothing. It is believed that WWE officials found out Moxley had signed for the new promotion when he appeared on camera at the end of their first show.

After defeating Joey Janela last weekend at Fyter Fest in what was his AEW debut, Jon Moxley will be working with former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega at All Out next month.
