It has been reported that WWE expects Kevin Owens to leave the company when his contract expires early next year.
Owens’ current WWE deal reportedly comes to an end in January 2022, much earlier than initially noted. As per Jon Alba of the Living the Gimmick podcast, WWE is of the internal belief that Owens won’t re-sign with the company.
Discussing Owens’ future, Alba said:
“In speaking with some WWE sources throughout the day, there is very much an internal belief Owens is gone at the end of his WWE deal. He has dropped multiple hints on social media in the last 24 hours that allude to him being AEW-bound.”
Owens recently tweeted out the coordinates for Mount Rushmore. This famous landmark was also the name of his PWG faction with the Young Bucks and Adam Cole. Cole notably debuted for AEW during All Out on September 5.
Owens has also changed his Twitter location to “almost there”, and the Bucks have changed theirs to “there”.
