Following NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Corey Graves took to Twitter to seemingly call out well-respected NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo for not letting Nigel McGuiness and Beth Phoenix speak.
Just for the record guys, I know you wouldn’t know it, but there’s actually a WWE Hall of Famer AND a former Ring of Honor Champion on commentary.
I’d imagine they have a lot to offer.

Mauro has spoken pretty publicly about his struggles with mental health issues, and it seems like Corey’s tweet has really affected the commentator.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Ranallo is in ‘rough shape’ as a result of Graves’ tweet.
“He’s in rough shape. I think everyone pretty much knows the situation, it was pretty bad the last couple of days. So, it’s pretty bad. It’s a day by day thing, there’s no way of knowing what’s gonna happen next. It was a very unfortunate situation and I think we’ve spoken a lot about it, but it’s probably worse than we said.”
Reports have emerged suggesting that Corey Graves was trying to play into the brand rivalry element of Survivor Series with the tweet. It was expected that the incident would have been brought up on commentary.
Last night on NXT, Mauro Ranallo was replaced by Tom Phillips. Beth Phoenix said that she hoped to see Mauro next week, so hopefully, the situation is resolved in the coming days.
Everyone at WrestleTalk would like to send their best wishes to Mauro at this difficult time.
