Report: More WWE Positive COVID-19 Tests Than Originally Rumoured

It’s now being reported that the number of positive COVID-19 cases in WWE is more than had originally been rumoured and reported over the last few days. The numbers that have previously been put out are in the region of about 30.

As was reported earlier, WWE has postponed today’s Raw taping until tomorrow. According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, that’s because Raw talent was tested, and WWE didn’t like the results.

Alvarez said (transcrition via WrestlingNews.co):

“Raw is not taping today. They have announced that Raw is being taped tomorrow. What I have been told by multiple people is that they tested everybody on the Raw side and they did not like the results so they are retesting everybody and they are moving the show until tomorrow. I have zero numbers … whatever number it is, it was enough that they didn’t tape today.

“I was told that tomorrow is also the day that a lot of other results are going to come back….the feeling is tomorrow is gonna be another bad day in terms of results.

“There is more that I heard but I have not confirmed it yet. If you think what I just told you is bad, it’s bad. It is bad. I will tell you as much as I am able to tell you and if I hear more throughout the show, I’ll let you know.”

Five positive tests have been made public as of this writing, those being Renee Young, Adam Pearce, Kayla Braxton for a second time, MLW’s Tyreke who was an extra, and Jamie Noble.

Everyone at the Performance Center, other than those in the ring during matches, are now wearing masks after previously, according to reports, being discouraged from doing so.

There have been some forced changes to plans for tonight’s SmackDown, which is currently being taped. We’ll have live coverage of the show, and stay tuned for any updates on the situation.
