Report: No Backstage Heat On Ridge Holland After Big E Injury

Report: No Backstage Heat On Ridge Holland After Big E Injury WWE

The WWE backstage reaction to Ridge Holland and Big E’s serious injury on last week’s edition of SmackDown has been revealed.

Big E has confirmed that he suffered a broken neck on the March 11 show, following an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland at ringside.

Per Wade Keller on a PWTorchVIP.com audio show, there appears to be no heat on Holland, following the injury. Keller noted that Holland was very apologetic backstage following the incident.

Keller said:

“Big E is just beloved. As Becky (Lynch) said, one of the best humans in the world. People love Big E who get to know him. And we certainly wish him the best. I asked some wrestlers about what happened and what their take of it was.

“First of all, I will say I heard that Ridge Holland was very apologetic and very sorry about what happened backstage. He handled himself well. There doesn’t appear to be any heat on him. This was not a reckless move or something that Big E wasn’t ready for or that seemed like in any way Ridge Holland did anything wrong.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful previously reported that Holland visited Big E in the hospital that night.

Big E recently provided an update on his injury, noting that his C1 and C6 vertebrae have been fractured, and revealing he has no vertebrae displacement, no spinal cord damage, no ligament damage, and doesn’t expect to undergo surgery.

We continue to send our best wishes to Big E and wish him a full and complete recovery from this horrible injury. Also, please do not send any hate towards Ridge Holland for the incident, as accidents happen in wrestling.
