It’s fair to say that there are plenty of people and companies who could have dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic more sensibly, and with a number of outbreaks reported in recent months, WWE is near the top of that list.
According to a new report from Fightful Select (subscribe here), a number of NXT stars are angry with the way WWE has dealt with the pandemic, as they feel their safety hasn’t been taken into account.
Several people they spoke to also admitted frustration at people within the promotion who haven’t been taking the virus seriously.
“NXT trainees were set to return to the renovated WWE Performance Center on Thursday, October 8, but many weren’t comfortable with returning for obvious reasons. Months prior, NXT talent were told there would be no heat on them if they didn’t feel safe coming in and training, but that they might need to “explain it to Vince.” We’ve not heard any instances of that actually happening.
“However, NXT trainees in contact with Fightful have expressed their discomfort with training, with multiple citing the number of “COVID truthers” on the NXT roster that just don’t take the situation seriously.”
Names like Renee Young, Adam Pearce and Kayla Braxton all publicly admitted that they had tested positive for the virus earlier this year, but it is believed many more were banned from revealing the results of their tests.
