It was reported last month, following a reported outbreak of COVID-19 within WWE, that all Performance Center recruits in the crowd for television tapings would be required to wear masks.
We then saw the majority of people in the crowd wearing their masks, although there were few exceptions where people were either wearing their masks incorrectly, or simply not wearing them at all.
Well, Dave Meltzer is now reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that people who either weren’t wearing their masks during the TV taping where ‘quickly removed from their position’:
“Early in the show, you could see two performers with no masks right in front of the hard cam. They were quickly removed from their position. Everyone else was wearing a mask although one person did not have his mask covering his nose.”
It was also reported that those not wearing masks would be fined $500 for their first offense, and then $1000 after that. There is no word on if those fines have been issued yet.
I’m sure that the easiest thing to do would have been to ensure that everyone was wearing masks at the beginning of the show, but at least they were removed from their position once higher-ups noticed.
