Report: Original Plans For Seth Rollins DX Segment Revealed

It is being reported that the DX Reunion spot on last’s night’s Raw Reunion show was actually meant for Ricochet, not Seth Rollins.

Dave Meltzer is reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that Ricochet has an elbow infection and the decision was taken to pull him and replace him with Universal Championship number one contender Rollins.

“Ricochet has an elbow infection so the whole spot that Seth Rollins did with AJ Styles, that was all Ricochet. The whole idea of the DX thing, and again, I do not know this was a Paul Heyman idea, but I know that Ricochet is one of his projects and I know the idea of the show was for the show, one of the big ideas was that Ricochet gets a big rub in the end from DX. Where they endorse him and they say he’s the next big thing. That is what that segment was supposed to be.”

As you will have seen, it was basically a way of getting DX over again and Seth was left to watch them all hug, so perhaps it was better that Ricochet didn’t get involved in it all if they’re trying to push him.

The newly named OC (Original Club) were the unfortunate victims of DX’s annual burial, but hopefully with AJ Styles at the helm it won’t have hurt their momentum too much.
