On Friday night, Jon Moxley revealed that he will be unable to compete this weekend at AEW All Out due to an elbow infection that will require surgery.
Very soon after, AEW revealed that instead of Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega will be going one-on-one with PAC at the big show on August 31st.
A report then emerged by PWInsider who stated that the plan was for PAC to always appear at All Out, just in a non-wrestling capacity.
The site did not report how PAC was previously slated to be involved.
However, on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio , Dave Meltzer is reporting that PAC WAS NOT previously slated to be in Chicago for All Out:
“I said Pac was going to be in Chicago anyway — I was wrong about that. PAC was not booked in Chicago to be on that show. As far as what he did, it was a booking they made after they found out about Moxley, so they moved it real quick because it wasn’t really long that they knew about Moxley.”
It has been reported that AEW knew on Wednesday 21st that Moxley would be unable to compete. They then had two days to contact PAC before announcing the new match on Friday 23rd.
