Report: Plans For Universal Title Match At WrestleMania Are In ‘State Of Flux’

It was reported over the weekend that WWE has changed several planned matches on the SmackDown side for the upcoming WrestleMania pay-per-view.

The two matches that were changed were a Universal Championship match between The Fiend and Roman Reigns, and a singles clash between Elias and a returning John Cena. Both matches reportedly WON’T be taking place.

Taking this report into consideration, some have speculated that Goldberg will defeat The Fiend tomorrow at Super ShowDown before going on to WrestleMania to defend his title against Roman Reigns.

However, it seems like the company officials don’t even know what the plan is for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, as has been seemingly confirmed by a former WWE star.

During Busted Open Radio, former WWE Tag Team Champion Bubba Ray Dudley (now Bully Ray) state that the majority of the matches for SmackDown at WrestleMania, including the Universal Title, are in a “state of flux”:

“I’ve heard rumblings within the WWE. Nothing is set in stone on on the SmackDown side of WrestleMania. When it comes to the Universal Championship for WrestleMania, a lot of matches are in a ‘state of flux.’ I think we only have two definitive matches so far set, you know, Brock [Lesnar] and Drew McIntyre plus Charlotte [Flair] and Rhea [Ripley], everything else is up for grabs.”

If you were on WWE’s booking team, what would you have as the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania?
