A new report has given an update on the status of a recent WWE backstage layoff, stating that the decision has been rescinded.
John Cone was among the names reported to have been given their marching orders by WWE. It was previously reported that Cone would be relieved of his Senior Manager of Talent Relations role, but remain a referee for the company.
PWInsider are now reporting that Cone’s termination has been rescinded. He is reportedly already back to his Senior Manager duties. The reason for WWE overturning their decision is currently unknown.
Mick Foley recently asked WWE to rethink their decision to terminate Cone. Foley took to Twitter to note his respect for the WWE talent.
Cone has been an referee for the company for a number of years, with his son Nicholas even winning the Raw Tag Team Championship alongside Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 34. He will reportedly continue in his managerial position, under John Laurinaitis.
