Following the November 4 WWE releases, The New York Post reported earlier that one of the reasons Nia Jax was let go was because she isn’t vaccinated against COVID-19.
Fightful Select also reported that “at least five” of the released names were “openly unvaccinated”, and the list included some “very surprising names”. Fightful was told that vaccination status isn’t the “exclusive reason” for anyone being let go
As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the former WWE talents were not told to get vaccinated by WWE prior to getting released. Meltzer noted that it was understood WWE wanted performers be vaccinated, but nobody was outright told to get the vaccine. Meltzer did state that vaccination status did play a role in some of the releases.
This comes after Nia Jax revealed that vaccination status was never brought up with her personally prior to her WWE release, during her first comments following her WWE departure.
