AEW announced last week that Lance Archer had joined their ranks. For those who aren’t aware, Archer is a former NJPW star, previously holding the promotion’s IWGP United States Championship.
Archer didn’t show up at either AEW Revolution that weekend or AEW: Dynamite the following week. However, it has been reported that the big man was supposed to make his debut for the promotion this week.
Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer Radio following the show that Archer was supposed to debut for the company on the 03/04 episode of Dynamite.
For those that are concerned, Meltzer confirmed that Archer is still with AEW are will certainly make his debut in the near future, but creative plans for Wednesday night’s show changed meaning his debut was postponed.
Instead, we got WWE Hall of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts appearing on the show. During his awesome promo, Roberts teased that a new client of his will come be becoming to AEW to feud with Cody.
Some have speculated that AEW may be planning on having either Brodie Lee (formerly Luke Harper) or the aforementioned Lance Archer revealed as Roberts’ new client. For the latest on that, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
