Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that top NXT UK star Ilja Dragunov is dealing with an injury.
As a result, the Russian-born Dragunov was forced to pull himself from wrestling shows that he had been advertised to perform at this week.
There is no word on what exact injury Ilja has suffered and how long he will be out of action for, so make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on the situation.
In recent weeks on NXT UK, Dragunov has been teaming with Gallus to take on WWE United Kingdom Champion WALTER and Imperium.
On the most recent episode of NXT UK, Dragunov and Gallus teamed to take on Imperium in a chaotic four-on-four tag team match.
At the last NXT UK TakeOver event, NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff, Ilja Dragunov had a show-stealing match against SmackDown Superstar Cesaro. While Cesaro might have won, Dragunov was really put over in defeat.
With WWE announcing NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II for January 2020, let’s hope Dragunov is able to quickly recover and have another great match at the upcoming show.
