Dave Meltzer recently reported that Ronda Rousey is currently not scheduled for the Royal Rumble tonight, and it seems like the former Raw Women’s Champion also won’t be appearing at WrestleMania.
Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said he was “kinda told” that Rousey is not slated to be part of WrestleMania this year, despite fans speculating that she was preparing for a comeback:
“I was kinda told that she’s not doing [WrestleMania] this year. If it was in Los Angeles I think she would have done it for almost he same reason, but it’s not now. You could do it, but it does make more sense for her to be in Dallas for next year’s WrestleMania or Los Angeles the year after because this year it’ll still be a scaled down event.”
Ronda Rousey’s WWE deal is actually believed to be coming to an end on April 10, and there is currently no word on whether or not WWE is planning on signing for the former UFC star to another deal.
It’s important to note that plans can always change and it’s always possible that Ronda Rousey does work WrestleMania, but according to Meltzer, she isn’t scheduled for the show as of right now.
