Although it was initially reported that Seth Rollins made a speech prior to Raw about the travel delays in Saudi Arabia, the former Universal Champion has since denied those claims.
However, a meeting reportedly did take place. During the meeting, Vince McMahon allegedly reassured talent that the reason for the long delay was a “mechanical issue” with the plane rather than a financial dispute.
While Seth Rollins didn’t make a speech during the meeting, it has been reported that fellow Raw star AJ Styles spoke up. WrestleVotes noted that Styles is very well respected backstage in WWE.
However, Styles’ stablemate Karl Anderson was reportedly called out by WWE COO Triple H during the meeting for something he said on Twitter.
After arriving in the US, Karl Anderson took to Twitter to say that he would never return to Saudi Arabia before adding that he might be convinced to change his mind as he needs money for a new pool in his house.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H called Anderson out for his comment on Twitter.
“The meeting was about to wrap up when Paul Levesque called out Karl Anderson for making a remark on Twitter about who is going to be the locker room leader on Monday. Anderson didn’t say much of anything. The situation with Anderson was that besides that remark, he tried to be funny by teasing the idea he was mad and wouldn’t go back, only to joke about it, saying that he needed to pay for a new pool.”
Despite being called out by Triple H on Monday, Karl’s tweets are not believed to have given him any heat backstage with “The Game” or other WWE higher-ups.
