Report: Vince McMahon To Make Big Changes To NXT On USA Network

Up to now, NXT has been run pretty much solely by Triple H, with Vince McMahon having very little input with regards to the black and gold brand’s storylines.

However, with WWE set to announce on Raw tomorrow that NXT is going to become a two-hour live show on the USA Network in the coming months, that all could be about to change.

Vince is currently involved with both Raw and Smackdown, and everything that happens on the shows has to be approved by him. This has reportedly led to Vince McMahon sometimes not even finishing writing the shows until after they have started.

This could become a problem that NXT faces too, with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio claiming that there is no way that Vince McMahon will be “hands-off” with the new NXT TV show:

“It also means that no matter what that everyone who also thinks that Vince McMahon isn’t going to get involved — you know like, it’s on the USA Network. Vince is not going to be hands-off on a show on the USA Network.”

This certainly seems plausible, with NXT set to become WWE’s third brand as it moves to the USA Network, rather than just a developmental territory.

This is certainly a worry for NXT. It cannot be a coincidence that NXT, which happens to be the best product that WWE puts out, has had no prior involvement from Vince McMahon.

This all comes after it was reported that FOX is very unhappy with WWE and Vince McMahon right now. It is believed that the network felt as if they were guaranteed to be securing NXT on TV in the coming months.
