At NXT Great American Bash Night 2, Keith Lee defeated Adam Cole to win the NXT Championship and retain the NXT North American Championship. Adam Cole held the title for over 400 days.
Having been in NXT for a number of years, fans and, apparently, WWE executives are wondering what’s next for Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era. According to a report from Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue, those plans may have been revealed.
Colohue is reporting that many are expecting the entire faction could be called up to either Raw or SmackDown. This has been the expectation for a while.
However, Colohue is now adding to the report that there could be issues with this plan. His report states that one of the members of the faction may have concerns over the potential of getting COVID being increased by going to the “main” roster.
“There is also an urge at this point, with so much talent coming through but so many people released on the main roster recently to clear the NXT card a little more. The original plan was to have a full shakeup post WrestleMania with a number of NXT members moving across to RAW and SmackDown and some lesser-used members of those rosters spending some time in NXT. But due to COVID-19, this was canceled and a number of quiet moves were made with this in mind.”
Additionally, Colohue is saying that not everyone on Raw and SmackDown are convinced on the idea of bringing up all four members. This would mean someone could stay behind in NXT even though NXT has no plans to use UE moving forward.
That’s not a good thing for whoever gets left behind. Colohue doesn’t speculate on which member that might be. However, Adam Cole is definitely wanted no matter what.
Colohue also states that the plan was to bring the group around Summerslam to help get acts that will stay behind over on the way out. With the Lee victory last night, this sure looks to potentially be the case.
