Last night on Raw, former Smackdown Women’s Champions Natalya and Charlotte Flair teamed up to take on Asuka and Kairi Sane of The Kabuki Warriors.
After defeating the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on last night’s show, WWE teased on Twitter that Natalya and Flair might receive a title match in the future.
The fact that Flair and Natalya went over the champions certainly makes it seem as if WWE has big plans for the duo.
However, Dave Meltzer is reporting on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that the original plan for last night’s show actually had Asuka and Sane defeating Flair and Natalya.
“I don’t know what happened to lead to a change here, but the original finish was Asuka and Kairi going over.”
There is no word on why WWE decide to have Nattie and Charlotte pick up the win instead. Make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on the matter.
With Survivor Series likely set to feature many champion vs. champion vs. champion matches, I could see WWE having Nattie and Charlotte challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the tag team titles on the show.
