Report: WWE Confirms Coronavirus Case

Fightful has now stated that WWE has officially confirmed this news.

While the likes of Carmella, Dana Brooke, Corey Graves and Rey Mysterio have been placed into quarantine as a result of Coronavirus, it is not believed that anyone at the company has tested positive for the virus.

That is until now, as Fightful‘s Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that someone within WWE has tested positive for Coronavirus. Due to obvious reasons, the person infected with the disease has not been revealed.

According to Sapp, several people within WWE over the last few days have reached out to him to say that someone within the company has tested positive for the disease.

Sapp was able to receive access the following memo that WWE sent their talent earlier this week, alerting them of the diagnosis:

We have just been notified that (name redacted by Fightful) was diagnosed with COVID-19. WWE doctors spoke with (redacted) this morning and reported (they) last had contact with anyone at WWE on March 26 at the Performance Center. As you know, (redacted) is not an in-ring performer and we believe this matter is low-risk to you per the following chronology

The memo notes that while the person who has Coronavirus may be a WWE employee, they are not an in-ring performer. This, fortunately, means that the matter is “low-risk” to wrestlers within the company.

Regardless of being an-ring performer, the person was at the Performance Center just a few weeks ago. This may explain why several members of the roster are reportedly unhappy with WWE’s call to continue taping live shows at the PC.
