It was reported last week that a member of the AEW roster had told management that they had been contacted by WWE, and now it appears they weren’t the only one.
During a mandatory AEW talent meeting yesterday, Tony Khan reportedly told talent that AEW legal chief Megah Parekh had sent a warning email to WWE regarding alleged “contract tampering”, and a new report from Dave Meltzer appears to show why this warning has been sent.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed more than just one person has been contacted by WWE.
“I don’t know the details, but multiple people have been contacted (by) WWE. It’s not like it’s one person to pick a name. It’s a few people.”
Meltzer did not mention any names, and no-one has speculated as to who it might be, but Chris Jericho has posted a few tweets over the past couple of days suggesting WWE wants him back. As to whether that’s true or not, we don’t know.
Whether or not WWE will face any repercussions for trying to contact contracted stars, we’ll have to wait and see.
