Report: WWE Evolution II “More Than Likely” Happening In 2020

It was reported a few weeks ago that WWE higher-ups were considering holding a second Evolution pay-per-view on August 30, just one week after the SummerSlam event.

That was not all, as it was also rumoured that former Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard would be making her WWE debut on the show. You can read more about that by clicking here.

UK wrestling journalist Alex McCarthy is now reporting on Sportskeeda that the second-ever Evolution pay-per-view will “more than likely” happen in 2020, according to his sources;

“Sources told me that WWE is indeed exploring the possibility of Evolution 2 and given how easy it would be to run at the Performance Center, it seems like simple, low-cost content to produce during this difficult time.

“WWE knows the goodwill the event brings with the fans and many inside the company feel running a second show is a ‘no brainer'”.

Vince McMahon recently said on his annual call with stockholders that WWE may possibly hold another event in Saudi Arabia this year. McCarthy notes that if this does happen, WWE will likely hold Evolution pretty soon after:

“WWE will continue exploring the idea of going to Saudi Arabia to fulfill their agreement before the end of 2020 and if they do, it makes it even more likely that they would run Evolution 2 right after it.”

McCarthy also notes in his report that many of the women’s roster that he has spoken to, both on and off the record, have told him that they’ve been vocal in pushing for another Evolution show:

“I’ve spoken to several women on and off the record in WWE about an Evolution 2 and they all say they are being vocal about pushing for it.”

Speaking of Evolution, it has been revealed that a current champion “threw a fit” when she found out that WWE was planning on holding a house show on the same day as Evolution. You can read more about that by clicking here.
