It was reported that during the TLC pay-per-view event in December 2019 that Big Dick Johnson made his return to the company. Johnson, real name Chris DeJoseph, has been part of SmackDown’s creative team for just six months now.
Chris DeJoseph originally joined WWE back in 2004 as a member of the creative team, but would go on to have stints in both Lucha Underground and MLW after leaving the company for the first time in 2010.
Despite being mainly a backstage figure, DeJoseph occasionally appeared on-screen as the ‘Big Dick Johnson’ comedy character on episodes of Monday Night Raw.
FW4Online is reporting that despite being one of SmackDown’s lead writers, DeJoseph has left his role within WWE. There is no word on when WWE let DeJoseph go and if he has been properly released or just furloughed. For the latest on this story, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
“Christopher DeJoseph, who was one of the lead writers of Smackdown, was let go. No other details are available.”
