Several WWE stars are still stranded in Saudi Arabia following last night’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view event. Dave Meltzer is reporting that the stars will be leaving the country later on tonight.
This left the status of tonight’s Smackdown in question. However, WWE released a statement confirming that Friday Night Smackdown will still go ahead as planned.
It was rumoured that WWE would be bringing in several NXT stars as ‘surprises’ to ensure that the show will go ahead, and this has now seemingly been confirmed.
It is being reported by Bryan Alvarez on the Wrestling Observer Live that WWE is flying out several NXT stars to Buffalo, New York for tonight’s Smackdown.
There is no word on who WWE is bringing in for tonight’s show, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest.
WWE tends to book great shows when they are forced to change things due to unforeseen circumstances. Let’s hope tonight’s show is no exception.
